A tiny fantastic beach is shaped, with deep azure waters, namely the beach of Stefanou. The beach has fine pebbles and sand, transferred there from the nearby quarry through the canyon.

The beach of Preveli is located 35km south of Rethymnon and 12km east of Plakias at the exit of the Kourtaliotiko gorge where the river Megas Potamos meets the sea. Along the river, there is a large forest of the rare Cretan date palm Phoenix theophrasti. This gives the area a unique, almost tropical look and has certainly contributed to making this beach very famous and popular despite its remoteness.
Diplohahalo. On the cove’, huge marble rocks are standing high to protect the beach from the bad weather.

South Rethymno

In this part of Crete there are the four wonderful beaches of Amoudi, Damnoni, Klisidi, Amoudaki, Agios Pavlos, Ligres and Triopetra Beach all of which are a short walking distance from one to the other.
Amoudi has thick white sand and rocky seabed, ideal for diving and snorkeling, and the waters have a bright green color. Next to the beach, there are many tamarisk trees, under which you can find shade and camp.
Following the road towards the east, the first beach to be found is the Ammoudaki which consists of two tiny bays. It is hidden between two oblong rocks. White-sanded coast is washed by aquamarine cold waters and is widely preferred by the nudists.
To the west of Mikro Ammoudi there is a cave with incredible blue colors. On the east side of the beach you can find a passing-through hole in the water that connects Mikro Ammoudi with Kleisidi beach. The two beaches are one dive away.

Matala Beach

Matala is located at the exit of a small valley, which forms an enclosed bay with nice view to the islands of Paximadia.There is a beautiful sandy beach, 300m long, with fine gravel and crystal clear deep water. Moreover, the seabed is quite rocky in some places (especially in the central part of the bach) and waves are common, due to frequent west winds. It is famous for the carved caves in the rocks and the hippies of the '70s.

Chania Old Port

The Harbour was carefully built in the 14th century for commercial purposes and for protection against pirate raids. Today it is a point of reference for the city of Chania and a much-photographed place with a touch of magic! One of the best views of the old port and Chania’s old town can be found by taking a pleasant stroll along the Venetian seawall to the 19th-century lighthouse.

Located near the village of Elafonissi, the Monastery of Chrissoskalitissa, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is a 17th-century Orthodox Christian monastery built on a rock. Legend states that it received the name Chrissoskalitissa because one of the many steps leading up to the monastery was gold. Built during Venetian times, the monastery now is a famous pilgrimage site and includes a folklore museum.

Lake Kournas is located in the village of Kournas. It is in the Apokoronas municipality of Chania regional unit close to the border with Rethymno regional unit, 47 km from the town of Chania. Kournas is a fairly large village perched on a hill overlooking the lake. Crete's only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3.5 km. There is a nature preserve on the Southwest side of the lake. There is a rustic road from the North of the lake to the Hills on the West of the lake. Across the lake, restaurants and cafes can be found.
